Practical Guide to Installation and Maintenance of Sprinkler Pumps

I. Installation Precautions

Site Selection and Foundation

Choose a location with high terrain and good drainage to install the pump, preferably no more than 50 meters away from the water source. The foundation must be solid:

The depth of the pit must exceed the local permafrost layer by 20 cm

The thickness of the concrete foundation must be at least 30 cm

The foundation must be 10-15 cm wider than the pump base on each side

After pouring, it must be cured for more than 7 days before the equipment can be installed

Pipeline connection

Note when installing the pipeline:

The water inlet pipeline must be equipped with a filter, and a 80-100 mesh filter is recommended

Soft joints should be used at the pipe joints to reduce vibration

The pipe support must be firm:

Small pipes (less than 5 cm) have one bracket every 2 meters

Medium pipes (5-10 cm) have one bracket every 3 meters

Large pipes (more than 10 cm) have one bracket every 4 meters

Electrical installation

The distribution box must be waterproof and no more than 10 meters away from the pump

The cable must be buried below 70 cm underground

The motor junction box must be waterproof and sealed

Commissioning and operation

First Pay special attention to the first operation:

Turn the water pump 3-5 times by hand to check if it is flexible

Power on briefly for a test run to confirm that the direction is correct

Slowly increase the pressure to the working value

II. Daily maintenance points

Lubrication and maintenance

Add grease to the bearing every 500 hours of operation

Use ordinary lithium-based grease

Control the amount of oil to fill the bearing cavity half to two-thirds full

Seal inspection

Slight water seepage is allowed during normal operation (no more than 5 drops per minute)

Check the seal every week

If the leakage becomes larger, deal with it in time

Operation monitoring

Record the operating current, which cannot exceed the rated value of the motor

Pay attention to the vibration of the water pump

Regularly check whether the flow and pressure are normal

III. Regular maintenance plan

Monthly maintenance

Clean the filter at the water inlet

Check whether the coupling is aligned

Tighten the anchor screws

Quarterly Maintenance

Replace lubricating oil

Check bearing clearance

Test motor insulation performance

Annual maintenance

Disassemble and check impeller wear

Measure whether the main shaft is bent

Calibrate pressure gauges and other instruments

IV. Common problem handling

No water

Possible cause: water inlet pipe leaks or bottom valve is blocked

Solution: refill water and check pipe connections

Water volume decreases

Possible cause: impeller wear or blockage

Solution: clean or replace impeller (replace with new one if wear exceeds 2 mm)

Abnormal vibration

Possible cause: bearing damage or loose foundation

Solution: replace bearing or reinforce foundation

Motor overheating

Possible cause: abnormal voltage

Solution: adjust voltage to normal range

V. Seasonal maintenance

Winter protection

Drain water from pump and pipes

Remove easy-to-freeze parts and store them properly

Prevent motor Moisture treatment

Protection in rainy season

Check whether the distribution box is well sealed

Raise the motor installation position

Add lightning protection measures

VI. Safety precautions

Operation safety

Install pressure protection device

Do not repair under pressure

Set up obvious warning signs

Electrical safety

Power must be turned off and signs must be posted during maintenance

Use insulating tools

Regularly check whether the grounding is good

Must be operated by trained personnel
