Precision Irrigation Implementation Plan with Sprinkler Pump System

Precision Irrigation Implementation Plan with Sprinkler Pump System

A precision irrigation system achieves on-demand water supply and conserves water resources through rational equipment configuration and intelligent control. The implementation plan mainly includes five parts: water source treatment, pumping station, pipeline network, sprinklers, and control system.

1. Water Source and Pumping Station The water source must be stable and filtered (e.g., sand filtration) to ensure water quality. Pumping station configuration depends on the irrigated area: small systems (e.g., tens of acres) can use a single variable frequency pump; for large and medium-sized systems, it is recommended to set up one pump for operation and one for standby, or a combination of multiple pumps to ensure reliable water supply.

2. Water Distribution Network Pipelines should be designed according to demand, and the main pipeline should be sufficiently large to ensure pressure. Fields must be divided into different irrigation zones according to terrain elevation differences and crop type to achieve zoned rotation irrigation and avoid uneven watering in low-pressure areas.

3. Irrigator Selection Select the end-point water outlet equipment according to the crop:

Rotary sprinklers: Suitable for large field crops, covering a large area.

Micro-sprinklers: Suitable for orchards and nurseries, providing finer water droplets.

Drip irrigation tape/pipes: Suitable for row-planted crops such as vegetables and flowers, offering the highest water-saving efficiency.

All equipment should operate at the recommended pressure to ensure stable water output.

4. Intelligent Control Core

This is the key to achieving "precision":

Sensing: Soil moisture sensors are installed in the field to monitor soil moisture in real time.

Decision-making and Control: The controller (manual, timed, or automatic) determines whether irrigation is needed and automatically switches on/off the water pumps and field valves.

Advanced Functions: The system can connect to a weather station and automatically pause during rainfall; or be remotely viewed and controlled via mobile phone.

5. Installation and Management Points

During installation, ensure tight pipe connections and clean filters regularly. Adjust irrigation plans according to the season and crop growth stage during operation. Regularly check sprinklers and drippers for blockages to ensure long-term system effectiveness.

Summary: Precision irrigation is not simply installing sprinklers, but a comprehensive system engineering project involving "reliable water source, reasonable pipe network, end-point adaptation, and intelligent control." Proper early design and investment can significantly improve irrigation efficiency and achieve water conservation and increased production.
