1. Head (H)

Definition: The maximum height to which a water pump can lift water vertically (unit: meter).

Customer focus:

Deep well pumping: Choose a high-head submersible pump (e.g. 50-200 meters).

Surface irrigation: Low-head centrifugal pump (e.g. 10-50 meters).

Example:

Orchard irrigation (head 30 meters) → Choose a H≥35m pump, leaving a margin to deal with pipeline friction loss.

2. Flow (Q)

Definition: Pumping volume per unit time (unit: cubic meter/hour, m³/h).

Customer focus:

Agricultural irrigation: Calculated according to crop water demand (e.g. 1 mu of vegetables requires 2-5m³ of water per day).

Household water use: Calculated according to population (e.g. a family of 5 requires 1-2m³ of water per day).

Formula reference:

Flow Q = Daily water demand ÷ Effective sunshine time (e.g. 20m³ per day, 5 hours of sunshine → Q=4m³/h).

3. Photovoltaic panel power (P)

Definition: The power generated by the solar panel (unit: kilowatt, kW).

Customer focus:

Power matching: A 1kW water pump needs to be equipped with a 1.5-2kW photovoltaic panel (considering the loss on cloudy days).

Occupancy area: A 1kW monocrystalline silicon panel requires about 6-8㎡ (the higher the efficiency, the smaller the area).

Example:

Irrigation of 10 acres of land (daily water demand 30m³, head 40 meters) → photovoltaic power ≈ 3kW.

4. System efficiency

Definition: The overall conversion rate of light energy → electrical energy → water energy (usually 30%-50%).

Customer value:

High-efficiency systems (such as MPPT controllers) can reduce the use of photovoltaic panels and reduce initial investment.

Reliability indicators

1. Photovoltaic panel life

Standard: 25 years (efficiency attenuation <20%).

Customer guarantee:

Warranty period: Mainstream brands provide 10-12 years product warranty and 25 years power guarantee.

2. Pump life

Standard:

No energy storage: Pump water to the water storage tank for backup on sunny days (recommended low-cost solution).

With energy storage: Equipped with a 10kWh battery, it can support 1-2 days of rainy days.

Q2: Is maintenance complicated?

Answer:

You only need to clean the photovoltaic panels monthly and check the sealing of the water pump every year (ordinary farmers can operate it).
